Sparkling crimson scarlet Large Semi Cactus that grows to approx. 1.2 m. Reliable variety for garden and exhibition which, for the latter, is best restricted to 4-5 main flowering stems per plant after stopping (removing the growing tip) the young plants once they have developed 3-4 pairs of leaves.
Once the terminal bud has developed and is about the size of a 10p piece 3-4 pairs of the side buds can be removed to further maximise flower size. If you are growing solely for garden display, then all flowers can be allowed to develop but resulting flowers will be smaller. Dead head regularly.
